Anna came to Australia from the Czech republic in 1992.
She studied teaching of Visual Arts at tertiary level both overseas and in Australia.
Anna works as a casual teacher and over many years of casual teaching she collected much experience from various types of school environments. Currently Anna works mainly at St Joseph’s Catholic High School at Albion Park. Anna’s two children are in their teens now and so there is more time for her own art work.
Anna started exhibiting her artworks in 2004 when, together with her friend, she held an exhibition at Kiama’s Old Fire Station.
Since then she has exhibited every year at the Art Arena Gallery at Wollongong. Last year her artwork won Highly Commended at the Saint Mary’s College Art exhibition. This year she is participating in Life Drawing exhibition and preparing a body of work for her upcomming exhibitions at Sydney’s Paddington and at Wollongong’s Project Art Space Gallery. Anna’s three students will have their works in progress displayed at Art Arena Gallery during 1. – 15. of December
Anna’s art teaching strategies are based on her belief that art making and an appreciation of art can greatly contribute to our quality of life …. Anna aims to provide her students with means of artistic expression and the knowledge of art by taking them step by step through various concepts, techniques and ways of depiction in traditional and contemporary art practice.
Some samples of Anna’s works can be viewed at the Art-Pecka group website :
